4 Perks of Hand-Prepping

Every JetSplash wash comes standard with a hand-prep power-wash before entering the tunnel. Why do we do this?

1. TO CLEAN HARD-TO-REACH AREAS

Cars have all kinds of crannies and crevices that wash equipment simply cannot access. Think wheel wells, door handles, inside of your side mirrors, etc. By prepping those places before you enter the wash, we ensure your ENTIRE car gets washed—not just the areas the brushes touch.

2. TO REMOVE STICKY BUGS

While we prep, we also spray your car with a special bug slime. It targets bugs and breaks down the proteins left behind that can damage your clearcoat if not removed. We then hand-prep the bugs off the grill, headlights and windshield—and hard-to-reach areas like your side mirrors too.

3. TO MAKE THE BRUSHES WORK BETTER

With a hand-prepped car, our brushes and wash equipment become even more effective. The power-washing did all the grunt work for a base clean. This gives the brushes, pumps and wash equipment a cleaner surface to work with—which translates to an even shiner car after the wash process.

4. TO ADDRESS TROUBLE SPOTS

Sometimes, your car is a little dirtier than normal—could be extra dirt/salt/grime in the winter, or extra bugs/bird poop in the summer. By hand-prepping your car, we give this extra dirtiness a little extra attention before our brushes and wash equipment get to work. Think of it like rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

NOTE: Unfortunately, we don’t accept cars with heavy/excessive mud. It requires a bunch of extra grunt work, which holds up the line. So if you go mudding or hit a deer, you might want to hose that down a bit before coming in.
